Published in Paperback by H.P. Books (June, 1997)
Author: John Demers
Average review score:

A Taste of the Islands
When I received this book as a gift, I couldn't wait to read through it and start cooking. The author, John DeMers, does an excellent job of explaining the basics of Caribbean cooking including a list (with explanation) of herbs & spices, seafood, meat & poultry, fruit & vegetables most commonly found throughout the Islands. The recipes are clear, concise and can be followed by novice cooks and professional chefs alike. Definately a good buy!

Caribbean Handbook: The Virgin, Leeward, and Windward Islands (Serial)

Caribbean Handbook by Karl Luntta
A very comprehensive and informative book on the The Virgin, Leeward and Windward Islands. It is an easy read and packed with relevant information for the tourist.

It is unfortunate that this book is no longer in print.

I am sure that a re-print would be economically viable.

Carrier Strike: The Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, October 1942
Published in Hardcover by Pacifica Military History (February, 2000)
Authors: Eric M. Hammel and Pacifica Press
Average review score:

should be the definitive account of Santa Cruz
Eric Hammel's CARRIER STRIKE The Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, should be the definitive work on this, the last of the 4 major carrier battles of WWII. As the second of two volumes about the Guadalcanal/Eastern Solomons campaigns, CARRIER STRIKE carefully details the action in well researched form. In an almost minute-by-minute account, the clash of the two carrier task forces on Oct 26,1942 will leave you breathless. A fitting tribute to the brave warriors who gave their lives for the cause. A superb book, and a must have for those studying the campaigns in the Southern Pacific.

The Carson Kids and the Shipwreck on Grizzly Island
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (April, 2000)
Author: Jan Pierson
Average review score:

Carson Kids Series
Good action and dialogue, plus authentic settings in British Columbia and the San Juan Islands. This series enchanted my grandchildren, and delighted me. It's full of tension, fun, sibling rivalry, and authenticity. And it's wholesome. While it's true that author Jan Pierson is my sister, it's also true that she did an outstanding job with this series of short but excellent adventures set in my beloved Pacific Northwest.

The Case Against Free Trade: Gatt, Nafta and the Globalization of Corporate Power (An Earth Island Press Book)
Published in Paperback by North Atlantic Books (October, 1993)
Authors: Ralph Nader, William Greider, Margaret Atwood, David Philips, and Pat Choate
Average review score:

It'll Change your Mind
This is an excellent book written by some of the leading authorities on NAFTA and GATT (Including Ralph Nader). Each "chapter" written by a different person is short and to the point. You can read as much or as little as you want, without feeling the need to finish the chapter. This book WILL make you sweat with anger at points. It is an excellent read.

An Accurate Catalina Pottery History (Way over due)
This is the best guide (there have been few)that has been released to date. The best thing about it are the accurate time frames and the pricing for the individual pieces. Plus the glaze and clay content history are very helpful!!! Get this while you can, because knowing Schiffer books, it will go out of print soon!!

Current, Entertaining, Exciting and Informative Reading!
I have finished reading this book and it was Great! A must read for anyone considering the rental or purchase of a new or preowned houseboat cruiser or any other boat for that matter. I could relate various aspects of my personality in each of the characters in this story. The adventure has inspired me to further my boating education by classes in the Power Squadron and Coast Guard Auxilary and becoming a member in each organization. A goal of of obtaining a Coast Guard Skipper's license within the next year is in place. Molly, thanks for sharing your adventure with us. I have caught the SPIRIT and redefined my own dreams.

Cayman: A Photographic Journey Through the Islands
This Cayman photography book is the most beautiful book published on the Cayman Islands. Not only have the photographers captured the beauty of these islands, they have also captured the beauty of the Cayman people by publishing their small biographies. I have been to the Cayman Islands and I love having this book as a wonderful memory of my trip.
